There is a whole slew of operating system, graphics card, ram configurations that rival some of the dual xeon processor setups for less than half the price, and none of these would run optimally on a CentOS system with both flame and 3d also packages. ![]() Is there any anticipation of making Flame compatible with Centos 8, or for that matter, any other flavors of linux in the future?Īs an artist who uses flame, nuke, and 3d programs like maya and houdini professionally, I frankly find the compatibility situation for linux a bit disappointing. Pardon me if I am misunderstanding, but I think you are implying updating the kernel itself makes it so you are running a non official version of CentOS for flame. Its a very old kernel, though it is stress tested and stable. As far as I know the latest supported linux version for flame is Centos 7.6, which runs default on the 3.1 kernel.
